For those of you that know me, I am a voracious reader and have a passion for literacy. I just learned about the 2nd Annual World Book Night. This year it is on April 23, 2012. You can find out more details about this event here: World Book Night. Last year over 1 million books were given out. The deadline to sign up is: February 1, 2012, so you have a few more weeks to decide. My top three favorite books from this list are:

I always find lists like these interesting – what is listed, and what isn’t. There are some authors on there I really like, and some books I ‘should’ have read but haven’t. But from their list my favorites are:

Interesting idea. Curious to know why this was established in this format. My 3, the only 3 I have read on the list are:

Little Bee
Glass Castle
All are pretty profound stories and ones that left a lasting impression. There are a couple on the list I would like to read: Bel Canto and The Hunger Games
